Non-for-profit organization “International Association of Technical Survey and Classification Institutions”, shortcut names — International Association of Technical Survey and Classification Institutions, TSCI, is established on September 20th, 2002, and registered on October 7th, 2002. TSCI consolidates national classification societies and technical supervision bodies in the sphere of water transport.
Subject and Objectives of TSCI Activities
Subject of TSCI activities is the cooperation in the field of classification and certification of inland and combined (river–sea) navigation vessels, sea-going ships, technical survey of ships and other industrial, construction and transport objects as well as cooperation in the field of certification of quality systems, manufacture, goods, work and services.
TSCI Quality Policy
All the activities of the International Association of Technical Survey and Classification Institutions and each of its members are aimed at meeting the needs of their customers, TSCI members and the society as a whole and are considered as the manifestation of quality.
Brief History of Cooperation within TSCI
15th of December, 1961, Warsaw were the date and the place of signing of the Intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation in the sphere of technical supervision over ships and their classification by authorized representatives of the governments of Bulgaria, Hungary, GDR, Poland, Romania, the USSR and Czechoslovakia. Later on Yugoslavia (SFRY), Korean People's Democratic Republic, Vietnam and Cuba joined this Agreement.
